The institution's arrival in this vibrant city is marked by the opening of its new campus at The Foundry, Cardiff St, De Waterkant, Cape Town, renowned for its artistic energy and creative spirit, provides the perfect backdrop for Greenside Design Center to nurture aspiring designers and cultivate their talents.

Greenside Design Center, was established as an Interior Design College in 1987, born out of the passion and vision of Ingrid Leujes and Desmond Laubscher, former lecturers at Technikon Witwatersrand. Drawing upon their extensive experience and deep love for design, they set out to create an institution that would revolutionize design education in South Africa. GDC quickly became a global symbol of creativity and innovation, now bringing its warmth and expertise to Cape Town.

Forging global collaborations and gaining International recognition, Greenside Design Center's commitment to excellence and unwavering focus on quality education has garnered significant recognition. In 1997, the institution was welcomed as an educational member of the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI), a testament to its dedication to interior design education. Various international partnerships and associations followed and today we are proud member of the International Council of Design (ico-D), CUMULUS, The Pan-Afrikan Design Institute (PADI), the African Institute for the Interior Design Professions (IID) and with international partnerships with institutes like LUCA School of Arts, Kolding Design School, Konkuk University, Augsburg University, Shandong University and many more.
