Educate to Fabricate
High-tech education for the 21st Century
Greenside Design Center and Made In Workshop are proud to announce a new and exclusive partnership where world class education meets the future of fabrication. Whether you are an inventor, creator, innovator or experimenter, GDC and Made In Workshop have joined forces to catapult design and manufacture into the 21st Century.
Under the banner of Educate to Fabricate, GDC and Made In Workshop will see several joint projects jump off the drawing board and into reality as early as 16 September when GDC students will launch their whacky wheels at the Red Bull Box Cart Race in Sandton. The box cart was conceived by the SRC at a gdcTHiNK design thinking workshop and is currently under construction at Made In Workshop. In October, the winners of the Head of Department Award will see a multidisciplinary team of third year students granted full access to Made In Workshop to prototype their solution to Noise, Form, Order and have it displayed at the GDC end of year exhibition from the 20th to the 22nd of November.
The future is now. Through our partnership programme, GDC students and staff already have special access to the high-tech facilities at Made In Workshop. If you want to join us in the 21st Century, or if you want to learn about laser cutting, 3D printing and robotics, watch this space as we collaborate with Made In Workshop to develop short courses to fast forward your ideas from concept into built reality.
