How do I enrol @ GDC
First I ensure that I meet the admission requirements:
* Completion of National Senior Certificate with entry into Bachelor degree programmes.
* A minimum of 60% in English as a first or first additional language in school
* An ability to analyse and communicate ideas and concepts through a visual medium, to be demonstrated through an existing portfolio or by completing a drawing exercise at the college
Once the above is met, I have to do the following:
* Call the Greenside Design Center reception at 011 646 1984 to make an appointment for an interview
* Print a copy of the Application Form from the website and complete the form
* Make copies of my ID / Passport document, latest school results, and any additional qualifications/ certificates
* Have my copies certified
On day of interview: I have to take the following with me to my interview...
* My completed Application Form
* My certified copies of my ID / Passport, latest academic results, any other results or certificates
* An art or design portfolio for (photos of artwork can also be assessed, or a drawing exercise can be done during the interview)
If I am accepted and want to register, I must:
* Complete the Pre-registration Form
* Pay the Pre-registration fee in and submit the Pre-registration form order to secure my place as a GDC student for next year
* Await correspondence from GDC in December regarding formal registration that will take place the following January. If I have between 51% and 59% for English:
What if I am currently completing grade 12?
Follow the process above, using the latest grade 12 results you have (for example 2nd term report). GDC can issue you a conditional acceptance pending your final National Senior Certificate.
