Corlia de Swardt, the 1st year Graphic Design lecturer at Greenside Design Center, brings a new skill to the department, strengthening the foundation of teaching. Her main subjects are graphic design (better known as studio) and computers.

She was born and raised in Harrismith, in the Free State until she was 19, and moved to Potchefstroom where she studied her degree in Graphic Design at the North West University.
Whilst studying, she completed a short course in Fine Art.
In 2006 she won a Sappi award for merit in packaging project.
And she was awarded the Sappi prize for the ideas that matter project, in the same year.

Corlia started her career as a graphic designer working for “Christelike Uitgewers Maatskappy” head office, designing book covers and layout design. She started working in advertising in 2007, working at Ultra Design, Pretoria.
She completed a short course in photography in 2007 to aid her in the design industry.

She was appointed as Graphic Design lecturer in 2008. She enjoys working with innovative ideas, computer cleverness and design in the broad-spectrum. Apart from enjoying teaching Corlia loves being an artist and being creative.

Her primary area of specialty is graphic design that involves the creation of any visual media. This can be in the form of invites, corporate identities, posters, book covers, or a whole host of other graphical works.
